About Borsellino Home Services
Hi!
My name is Nick Borsellino and my company is Borsellino Home Services. I live in my hometown of Cazenovia, NY which is also where Borsellino Home Services is based. My business has morphed a lot over the years but currently I’m focused primarily on Junk Removal, Hauling and Dump Trailer “Dumpster” Rental, and Landscape Material Delivery in Caz and the surrounding towns. Let me take a few minutes to tell you more about me and what I do.
I want to help people. I’ve always wanted to help people. I guess you could call this my mission statement. All the work that I do is service based, helping people complete projects that they can’t do on their own. Over the years, so many people have expressed their gratitude to me for the services that I provide and tell me how needed they are.
I’m well known in the area as a highly skilled carpenter and I ran my own construction company in Cazenovia (Borsellino Carpentry & Home Repair, LLC) for 12 years. I had a 20+ year career in carpentry and construction prior to making the shift to junk removal in 2021. To this day people still say things like “but you are so good at carpentry” and question why I decided to give it up. Even though I was regarded as one of the best in the area and people really appreciated my work, I was unhappy doing construction for many years. When COVID hit in 2020 it forced me to stay home and reevaluate my life and career. Over the next year I took on less and less construction jobs and started exploring other avenues.
In 2021 I decided to start offering to do dump runs for people and called it "Junk Hauling". Little did I know this type of work already had a name, "Junk Removal". As a contractor I was already familiar with bringing construction debris to the dump and many customers over the years had hired me to take junk away because I had a truck and trailer. I’ve always had a fascination with the dump and recycling in general. At first I was using my small 5x10 utility trailer which I quickly outgrew and within a few months purchased a small used 6x10 dump trailer. One year in, I purchased a large 7x14 dump trailer. In my second year I purchased two more 7x14 dump trailers and sold my 6x10. As of the date of writing this, I have three 7x14 dump trailers with different height sides as well as my original 5x10 utility trailer. Two of the dump trailers have 12 yard capacity and the third has 15 yard capacity. Aside from doing full service junk removal, I also rent them out like dumpsters.
A few years ago someone referred to me as a “steward of the earth” which can be described as “the responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices to enhance ecosystem resilience and human well-being”. While it pains me to see so much stuff go to the landfill every day, I know I’m doing my part to recycle or rehome as much as I can. I’m currently limited in how much I’m able to rehome as I just don’t have the space to store it in the interim. I do have a small storage space which I use to house recycling that I separate when doing jobs including metal, wiring, electronics, paper products, plastic, glass and paint. In the future I’d love to have a larger facility to store stuff that still has life left while I find new homes for it.
While I am not doing construction anymore, I have continued to do some light demolition work as this is closely related to the junk removal side of the business. I have a lot of experience with it from my career in construction. Some examples of light demolition are gutting a room or tearing down a shed.
I’ve always enjoyed using any type of equipment and in recent years have done many jobs using a tractor, skid steer and mini skid steer. Some examples of equipment work are gravel driveway repair/resurfacing, installing topsoil and grass seed, moving heavy objects, loading dump trailers, brush hogging and other land maintenance. I purchased my own compact tractor in 2024 outfitted with numerous attachments including a landplane, boxblade, pallet forks, grapple, brush hog and the loader bucket.
I do offer some other services that are based around my truck and trailer. I deliver landscape materials like mulch, gravel, topsoil, compost, etc. I’ve been snowplowing since 2015. I do boat launching and trailering. I haul and deliver other things like equipment, hay, and anything else that can be transported with a truck and/or trailer. One service that I do not offer that I am asked about regularly is moving (as in moving household items from one home to another).
Did you know I have a YouTube channel called “Borsellino Home Services”?! The channel started as “Borsellino Carpentry” when I was doing construction, but has transitioned with my business over the years. I have lots of instructional how-to videos, snowplowing, business tips, truck stuff and more.
I’ll also mention my Free Caz Contractor Directory, which is listed in the main header on my website. I started this a few years ago when I was transitioning out of construction to be able to give people a list of references for contractors in all trades. I don’t know the exact tally but I believe it has over 120 contractors including general contractors, landscapers, electricians, plumbers, roofers and many more trades.
I really enjoy my current line of work and all the different types of jobs I do on a daily basis. I take pride in my work and helping my community. I enjoy meeting new customers and making their lives easier through my hard work.
See what other people are saying about Borsellino Home Services. I have lots of 5-star reviews on Google.
I look forward to working with you on your upcoming projects! If you have any questions or would like to book, you can text or call me at 315-391-3303 or head to the Contact page.
